The Department wants to create a Thau Pond Tour by bike on Green Lanes
or secure roads and it will be a beautiful 60km loop.
Large parts are open: Cap de Sète bike path in Sète (3km),
Lido Green Way Sète-Marseillan-plage (12km),
bike paths in Marseillan (5km), Green Way Mèze-Balaruc-le-Vieux (12km).
A new Green Way has just been opened between Balaruc-les-Bains and Sète, for 5km,
on the right-of-way of an old railway, along the pond and the RD2 road.
It removes a difficult passage, and will have to be improved at both ends:
junction with Sète and extension in Balaruc-le-Vieux.
The Marseillan-Mèze section is also missing, where you have to use roads,
with dirt passages that are sometimes impassable (muddy).
This tour of the pond of Thau is already practicable and we recommend it for a bike tour on one or two days.
