Ariège and Aude: a fruit conservatory along the Lavelanet-Mirepoix Greenway Departement: Ariège Region: Midi-Pyrénées With the support of local authorities, the association Atout Fruit develops a conservatory of ancient fruit species along the Lavelanet-Mirepoix Greenway, and it will continue on the future branch Moulin-Neuf-Cailhau-Bram-canal du Midi (completion of the creation work scheduled for 2023). Nearly 400 trees have already been planted on the Lavelanet-Chalabre part, sometimes in “collections” with several varieties of cherry, apple, pear, fig-tree, … with explanatory panels, and free access. Locals and cyclotourists can get information and taste the fruits. Come visit this beautiful Green Way and enjoy this «conservatory»!
